Mission & History
The Association of Korean-American Professionals in the Automotive Industry”a.k.a KPAI, was established in 1979 as a social group by a small group of Korean-American professionals in Southeastern Michigan, Since then, it has evolved into one of the nation’s largest professional organization for Korean-Americans in the fields of multi-disciplinary engineering, design, business, and marketing.
With hundreds of members throughout Southeast Michigan and Korea, KPAI unites and enriches automotive professionals in related technical and business fields, thereby enabling positive contributions to the Korean, U.S., and global automotive industry. In 2008, KPAI initiated a new scholarship program and registered as a non-profit organization with the State of Michigan.
MISSION
KPAI is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving automotive professionals and the community. The purpose or purposes for which the corporation is organized are
1) To promote the development of professional and personal relationships among its members.
2) To develop the careers of Korean-American Professionals in the Automotive Industry.
3) To nurture the development of young Korean-American talents in the Automotive Industry.
4) To contribute to the success of the Automotive Industry by utilizing our unique cultural background as Korean-Americans.
KPAI offers a full complement of professional and social development activities that provide opportunities to network with cross-functional colleagues through seminars, annual meetings, golf outings, tennis games, year-end parties, etc. Since its commencement in 1979, KPAI's dedication, unique talents, and vision have helped serve the professional needs of its members and the automotive industry. KPAI is clearly poised to continue that role into the 21st century.
